Marx has been diagnosed with a broken leg and may be set for an extended stint on the sidelines.
Erasmus revealed that Marx had suffered "a little bit of a tibia fracture" after getting croc-rolled by Caelin Doris and James Ryan.
Remarkably, the hooker played on after that incident.
It's a cruel blow for Marx, who has only just recovered from a long-term knee injury suffered during the World Cup.
Ireland escaped with only a yellow card to Doris for the shocking tackle.
Meanwhile, Mostert, who had to leave the action early on Saturday, also broke his leg, Erasmus revealed, while Du Toit too is set for an extended spell on the sidelines.
"Franco is out for six weeks, he broke his leg," Erasmus said. "Malcolm, I just heard now, he's got a little bit of tibia fracture, when he got injured.
"Edwill is out for six weeks and Pieter-Steph is out for four to six weeks. But, all will be ready for the second Test of the Rugby Championship, apart of the guys who are out for six weeks."
The Springboks face the Wallabies in Brisbane on 10 August and in Perth on 17 August but will likely be making the trip to Australia without several key players.
