Sharks ready to right the wrongs of last weeks' blunder against the Lions

Sharks winger Yaw Penxe is eager to make amends for their disappointing United Rugby Championship loss at the hands of the Lions last weekend.

The Durban franchise travelled north for the derby fixture and delivered an underwhelming performance, going down 38-14 in a match where their two tries in the dying embers flattered the scoreline.

Ivan van Rooyen's charges were full of running, solid at the set piece and tenacious on defence as they eased to a well-earned bonus point win.

Now for the return match down in the humidity of Durban, Penxe is relishing a second chance at their old foe.

"As players we had a proper look at ourselves, individually and as a unit," reflected the Eastern Cape native.

"We kind of know where we went wrong and we've just been working on it in the last couple of days.

"We are essentially getting a second chance, which doesn't happen often, so we can hopefully right our wrongs this weekend.

"We weren't as physical as we would like to be and the second big point was our kicking game. We had a couple of inaccurate kicks, which hurt us and obviously our skill set as well, where we gave away a couple of turnovers and they put us straight back into our half.

"So, it was just about sharpening our skill sets and the bit on the physicality side, which is more mental."

The match kicks off at 2pm local time.
