The clash between the two heavyweights was dubbed by many as the greatest World Cup play-off match of all time but the fallout from the hosts' defeat has left many players still bitter.
Les Bleus midfielder Jonathan Danty said that he would not reconcile with Springbok flanker Pieter-Steph du Toit after the latter's clearout during the match.
Meanwhile, South African centre Damian de Allende revealed that he didn't have much sympathy for knocking out France in their home World Cup.
"I don't feel sorry for them because of the way the World Cup bid went and how it was taken away from us as South Africa," he said in a RugbyPass TV interview.
"For me, it was just a bit more personal - for all of us - once we understood what actually happened [with the bidding process] and Rassie explained what actually happened â- it gave us a bit of an edge for the quarter-final."
As for France flanker Francois Cros, he still hasn't watched the match back after the disappointment and probably never will.
It all makes for an epic grudge match which is set to kick off France's November internationals later this year.
South Africa are set to tackle France on November 8 at the Stade France with Rugbyrama reporting that Les Bleus will then host Fiji seven days later before a clash against the Wallabies closes out a challenging 2025 fixture list for France, who also tackle the All Blacks in Dunedin, Wellington and Hamilton in July.
