URC: Jake White shuffles Bulls for Glasgow Warriors clash

Bulls boss Jake White has made several changes to his team for a top-of-the-table clash against the Glasgow Warriors in their United Rugby Championship match on Friday.

The Pretoria franchise is coming off a hard-fought 16-13 away win over Irish giants Munster and are eager to continue their momentum. But it's out of the frying pan and into the fire for the Bulls as they face the URC defending champions in frigid Glasgow on Friday night.

Workhorse Ruan Nortje remains as captain, but will move from lock to flank, while fellow Springbok Marco van Staden will start at No. 8. James Kirsten is on the other flank, relegating Marcel Coetzee to the bench. Surprisingly, rising superstar Cameron Hanekom falls out of the matchday squad altogether.

Rotation continues at hooker with Johann Grobbelaar starting while Akker van der Merve moves to the bench.

The backline remains unchanged from last week, though wingers Canan Moodie and Sebastian de Klerk swap jerseys. On the bench, Springbok veteran Willie le Roux has been included as cover.

The Bulls are currently in third place on the URC table, but a win could see them move ahead of second-placed Glasgow.

Bulls - 15 Devon Williams, 14 Canan Moodie, 13 David Kriel, 12 Harold Vorster, 11 Sebastian de Klerk, 10 Johan Goosen, 9 Embrose Papier, 8 Marco van Staden, 7 Ruan Nortje (c), 6 Jannes Kirsten, 5 JF van Heerden, 4 Cobus Wiese, 3 Wilco Louw, 2 Johann Grobbelaar, 1 Jan-Hendrik Wessels.

Replacements: 16 Akker van der Merwe, 17 Simphiwe Matanzima, 18 Mornay Smith, 19 Jacobus Grobler, 20 Marcell Coetzee, 21 Keagan Johannes, 22 Willie le Roux, 23 Stedman Gans.
