Ademola Lookman eyes return as Atalanta prepare for Parma test

Ademola Lookman, the Super Eagles forward, has resumed light training with Atalanta after leaving Nigeria's camp early due to a minor injury.

The 26-year-old, a crucial figure for both club and country, has showed signs of recovery, raising hopes for his availability in Atalanta's upcoming clash against Parma.

Lookman, who has been Nigeria's standout performer over the past year, featured in their 1-1 draw against Benin during the international break but struggled to make his usual impact.

Shortly after, he was ruled out of Nigeria's second game against Rwanda and returned to Italy for assessment.

Reports from Calcio News24 confirmed that Lookman resumed light training on Wednesday, indicating his recovery is progressing well. His potential return comes as a boost for Atalanta, who rely heavily on the former Leicester City star.

Lookman has been directly involved in 10 of Atalanta's 30 Serie A goals this season, showcasing his importance to Gian Piero Gasperini's side.

Atalanta face Parma at the Stadio Ennio Tardini on Saturday, and Gasperini will be eager to have Lookman available as they aim to solidify their position in the league standings. While it remains unclear if he will start, Lookman's presence could be pivotal in securing a positive result against a resilient Parma side.

With his knack for decisive contributions, Lookman's return could make all the difference as Atalanta push for consistency in their campaign.
