Betway Premiership wrap: TS Galaxy and Magesi secure valuable wins

TS Galaxy reached new heights with an impressive victory over Supersport United on Tuesday, while at the other end of the PSL table, Magesi FC gave their survival hopes a much-needed shot in the arm.

TS Galaxy soar to fourth with convincing win over SuperSport United

TS Galaxy climbed to fourth place in the Betway Premiership with a 3-1 victory over SuperSport United at Mbombela Stadium.

The Rockets made an early breakthrough in the 13th minute when Belgian striker DÃ…¾enan Zajmovic gave them the lead with a well-placed header, before Keagan Dolly doubled the lead just seven minutes later with a clinical finish to put the home side in firm control.

SuperSport rang the changes at the start of the second period, bringing on Neo Rapoo, Christian Saile, and Bradley Grobler to spark a comeback, but it wasn't until the 88th minute that Nyiko Mobbie gave Matsatsantsa a glimmer of hope with his first league goal for the club.

However, any chances of a late equalizer were dashed in stoppage time when substitute Thokozani Sibanyoni sealed the win for TS Galaxy with a tap-in finish to secure all three points.

Magesi FC edge Richards Bay to boost survival hopes

Magesi FC gave their survival hopes a crucial lift with a 1-0 victory over Richards Bay FC at Seshego Stadium.

Owen Da Gama's side got off to the perfect start when Delano Abrahams finished from close range after receiving a layoff from Bafedile Baloyi.

Richards Bay grew into the game, with veteran striker Mxolisi Machupu making his presence felt in the box while Yanela Mbuthuma came close for the visitors in the latter stages of the first half.

The second half saw the Natal Rich Boys push forward, with Tlakusani Mthethwa narrowly missing the top corner with a powerful strike from distance. Meanwhile, Abrahams remained a threat for Magesi and nearly secured a brace after linking up with Baloyi, but goalkeeper Salim Magoola denied him.

Richards Bay looked to press their advantage with the clock winding down, but Magesi held firm to secure the win and move out of the relegation zone.
