Sekhukhune succumbed to their third loss of the season as they were beaten 2-1 at Moses Mabhiuda Stadium, where Chiefs hosted their league meeting on Wednesday.
Babina Noko led 1-0 at half-time, thanks to Elias Mokwana's well-taken goal, but Truter insisted Amakhosi – despite their seven attempts on target on the night – were of no real threat to warrant their victory.
"It's a match that we feel we should have gotten more from. I think Badra made one mistake in the build-up [and] we got punished," said Truter.
"We cleared the set-play and then switched off, I could see from the side there was a conversation between some players, and they put it in and punished us.
"Other than a few long-range shots that were blocked, I didn't see Badra making any saves in the first or second halves.
"We had Ohizu, who had a one-v-one with the goalkeeper and he didn't even take a shot, and towards the end, there was a rebound from Vila [Sibusiso Vilakazi] with an open net and he missed it.
"But ja, I think we deserved better, or something from the game. We could have done better as well, but in the end, tactically and structurally we were organised, we repelled them in the right areas.
"We managed to make it very uncomfortable for them, but with better decision-making, we could have punished them even more.
"But that's football for you and, like I said, I think we could have and should have gathered something much better [in terms of the result]."
