The player last week approached the Dispute Resolution Chamber [DRC] in an effort to try force the club to settle monies owed as well as confirm he can return to work for the remainder of the 2023/23 season.
Jali was initially dismissed by Swallows following what the club described as an “illegal strike” in December when the majority of the squad demanded early payment before Christmas and boycotted a fixture when there was a delay.
Embarrassingly, the PSL were left no choice but to cancel the games against Mamelodi Sundowns and Golden Arrows, which led to a fine and docking of six points for the Soweto outfit.
While a few players have since returned to the club and others have been handed clearances to find new homes in the second half of the campaign, Jali was not about to give up without a fight.
However, the public broadcaster can now confirm the DRC has thrown out the matter and ordered the former Sundowns star to pay for the costs of the sitting.
It leaves the 33-year-old and his legal team with plenty to think about regarding the next step, especially with the season resuming this weekend with Swallows hosting Polokwane City on Saturday.
Jali joined the Dube Birds as a free agent from Sundowns and penned a one-year contract with an option to have it renewed.
The fact that he had teamed up with former coach Steve Komphela was a positive sign for the former Bafana Bafana international, but what appeared a masterstroke union is now certainly headed for divorce after the DRC ruling on Wednesday morning.
SABC Sport also reported on Monday that Swallows had signed seven new players as reinforcements, with Musa Nyatama set to be appointed caretaker coach.
