It’s understood discussions are at an advanced stage, with Babina Noko open to concluding a deal with the USL Championship side for the player to get a fresh start outside the Premier Soccer League [PSL].
According to information gathered by the public broadcaster, Webber is in the final few months of a contract he signed when he joined Sekhukhune in July 2023 from SuperSport United.
The 27-year-old was registered by the club for the current season, however, Webber has been unable to break into the team under coach Lehlohonolo Seema having fell down the pecking order with competition stiff in his position.
Tulsa would be giving Webber a lifeline in the second tier of one of the world’s most popular leagues, the Major Soccer League.
Recently, Webber was linked with several other clubs in the PSL, but nothing materialised over the past two transfer windows as the player remains under contract at Sekhukhune, even as it enters the final months.
Babina Noko, who are third on the Betway Premiership table and face log leaders Mamelodi Sundowns at the Peter Mokaba Stadium tonight, are believed to be open to doing business with Tulsa now that discussions are at an advanced stage regarding the strong interest.
The lack of game time for Webber also suggests the club hierarchy are unlikely to stand in the way of this potential opportunity.
