Christian Gamboa extends his contract at Bochum until 2025

Cristian Gamboa has extended his contract with Bochum, which expires at the end of the season, for another year, until June 30, 2025.

The former Costa Rican international (78 international matches) has been playing for VfL since 2019 and has played 112 competitive games for the blue-whites during this period, including 47 in the Bundesliga.

"Cristian Gamboa is an important element of our squad, he is someone who always leads the way," says Marc Lettau, sports director of VfL Bochum 1848. "Gambo is an absolute model professional who does not spare himself and, despite his intense style of play, still has an amazing ability physique. Our younger players can take a cue from him, including when it comes to training, because he only knows full throttle on the pitch."

"I am very happy and happy that VfL has made me a new offer," says Gamboa. "The club has grown close to my heart, the team, the fans, the stadium, the employees, the city of Bochum. Together we want and will manage to celebrate staying in the league again at the end of the season. I will give everything for that, the team will do everything for that."
