Thwihli Thwahla are winless in their last five matches in all competitions, with four losses and a draw, as they endure a rough patch.
Nteo, who now sits without fellow co-coach Khabo Zondo on the bench, says something must give against Usuthu this weekend.
"It's a must-win for us, actually, so that we can find our feet. Listen, we're playing well but it's just the opportunities we are not finishing. But, look, a derby always comes with a vibe, but we will fight," said Nteo.
"It's not an easy game that we're going to play, we will fight and make sure that we come home with the maximum points. It's a must-win game over the weekend."
For coach Romain Folz, who has registered just one win in five league games since his appointment, its important to build their confidence back up in this game, with three points to play a big part in that.
"I would say it's very important, just like any game, whether it was [that] we play Royal AM, Sundowns or whoever. The game coming, also looking at the log, we need to get that win and do a complete performance from start to finish [sic]," he said.
"We need to be on top of our game as much a possible, the more consistent performances we can do back-to-back-to-back, the more confidence we're going to gain. The more confidence you gain, the more effective you're going to be on and off the ball.
"So, I feel like we're definitely on the right track on what we want to do, we're on time in terms of the objectives I want to see tactically, physcall and mentally, and all the aspects surrounding the game.
"So, entering into this game, we know it's a derby, we know the importance of that for us, for the fans and for everyone surrounding the club, so the only thing I can say is, we're going to do our very best to give the best performance possible and yes, we need to win."
AmaZulu are seventh on the log, with 18 points and just two spots ahead of their neighbours Royal AM.
