Donny van de Beek is considering his options as he eyes the Manchester United exit

Donny van de Beek's representatives have reportedly been in discussions with European clubs regarding the possibility of leaving Manchester United.

Since joining United from Ajax in September 2020, Van de Beek has struggled to secure a regular spot in the first team.

Behind Bruno Fernandes in the midfield pecking order and plagued by injuries, his fortunes have failed to improve under manager Erik ten Hag, who previously coached him at Ajax.

Although Van de Beek returned to pre-season training after a January injury, the signing of Mason Mount has further limited his playing time prospects for the upcoming season.

While Ten Hag maintains a positive relationship with the player, it is understood that both he and United's decision-makers have approved Van de Beek's departure. As a result, his camp is exploring new opportunities.

Clubs in Serie A, including Inter, Roma, and Milan, have shown interest in the 26-year-old, although he is not their primary target. In the Premier League, Wolves, Nottingham Forest, and Crystal Palace are monitoring the situation.

Europa League champions Sevilla, Nice under Sir Jim Ratcliffe, and Celtic led by Brendan Rodgers have also displayed interest.

A return to Ajax is not out of the question, and Dutch champions Feyenoord would be open to accommodating Van de Beek under favourable terms.

While United prefer a permanent sale to clear out players not part of their long-term plans, a loan move appears more likely at present.
