McNeil, who has contributed four goals and three assists this season, has undergone minor knee surgery. Moyes said, "Dwight's had a minor surgery. Hopefully this will help get him back."
Meanwhile, young striker Chermiti has returned to training but is still weeks away from selection. Moyes said, "Chermiti is back on the grass today. I'm getting told four weeks until we might have a chance of getting him back."
With the transfer window closing and Profit and Sustainability Rules (PSR) limiting new signings, Moyes has hinted at the possibility of using centre-back Michael Keane in an unconventional role up front.
Despite Keane not being a natural forward, Moyes has noted his past performances, saying, "Let's be fair, he's not a centre-forward. But everybody seems to tell me that he's always done quite well."
Everton are riding a wave of momentum after securing back-to-back victories against Tottenham Hotspur and Brighton, which have lifted them seven points clear of the relegation zone.
This match against Leicester represents an opportunity for Everton to win three consecutive games for the first time since April of the previous season. Historically, Everton have only lost one of their last eight Premier League encounters with Leicester (W3, D4), adding to the optimism around Goodison Park.
However, Leicester are desperate for points to avoid slipping further into the relegation mire. Their recent win against Spurs was their first away victory since November, highlighting their struggles on the road. Leicester currently sit one place and six points behind Everton but will look to capitalize on any complacency from the home side.
Key players to watch include Everton's Iliman Ndiaye, who has scored all his league goals in the first half of matches, and Leicester's veteran Jamie Vardy, who aims to continue his scoring streak into his late 30s.
Updates from x on social media suggest that Armando Broja, Seamus Coleman, Dwight McNeil, and Youssef Chermiti are all ruled out for this match, adding to Moyes's selection headache.
