23rd October 2024
The opening two matches in Group A were played at Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium, where hosts South Africa defeated Namibia 1-0 in a tightly-contested affair, after Eswatini thumped debutants Seychelles 6-0 to record their biggest-ever win in the tournament.
Eswatini's Tenanile Ngcamphalala registered the first hat-trick of the 2024 edition, with captain Celiwe Nkambule netting a brace, while Nokuthula Ndlovu also got on the scoresheet.
Over the next three days, from Wednesday, 23 October 2024, the games will not take place at Gelvandale Stadium, as initially planned, but instead move to Isaac Wolfson Stadium due to extensive water damage caused by rain.
The Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium is also not available as it has been pre-booked for other events, with Madibaz Stadium at the Nelson Mandela Metropolitan University also coming into play.
The semi-finals and final will remain at Isaac Wolfson Stadium on 31 October and 2 November respectively.
