The 38-year-old shot stopper has returned to the Tshwane outfit for the second time in his career following a notable spell at Marumo Gallants, who were relegated last season with Arubi one of the standout players.
Speaking to SABC Sport, the Zimbabwe international revealed how he is keeping up with the youngsters at SuperSport.
''As senior players we have been trying to push the youngsters to do well, I advise them to focus on things they can control, like training and eating well,'' said Arubi.
Arubi was not short of suitors when Gallants failed to avoid the drop, with Sekhukhune United among the clubs keen on his services.
The keeper says he opted to rejoin SuperSport because he had some “unfinished business”.
''I had unfinished business, the first two seasons I didn't play even a single game. I told the team to send me out on loan and I did well, till they called me back,'' added Arubi.
With SuperSport juggling the domestic and continental commitments before being knocked out of the CAF Confederation Cup last month, Arubi was a beneficiary and as such managed a combined eight matches for the club.
He says there’s healthy competition between him and Bafana Bafana’s Ricardo Goss, who is currently the first choice.
''As goalkeepers, we have to stay together as a family, because the first thing we have to do is to make sure that we keep more clean-sheets for the team to do well. I am happy for Ricardo to be where he is right now and I wish him well,'' he concluded.
Arubi still has hopes of winning the DStv Premiership title, although log leaders Mamelodi Sundowns will be difficult to catch with 10 games to go.
The Nedbank Cup is more of a reality. SuperSport face Stellenbosch in a quarterfinal tie at the Danie Craven next weekend.
