Klopp, who is known for his pragmatic approach, cited financial constraints as the main reason for the club's decision to step back from the pursuit of Bellingham, whose transfer fee was expected to exceed £115million (R2.5 billion).
Speaking to reporters ahead of Liverpool's trip to Leeds, Klopp said: "If I don't speak about players we sign and don't sign, why would I now speak about this kind of speculation? Really nothing to say about it."
When pressed further on the issue, Klopp explained that his answer was not specifically about Bellingham, but rather about the club's overall approach to the transfer market.
Using a Ferrari analogy, Klopp emphasized the importance of operating within the club's means: "We cannot have six players in the summer, where everyone is £100million, for example. That's kind of clear. You have to realize what you can do and then work with that," Klopp said.
"We are not children, if you ask a five-year-old what they want for Christmas and they tell you they want to have 'a Ferrari', you wouldn't say that's a good idea. It's too expensive and, anyway, you cannot drive it."
Klopp reiterated that Liverpool always try "absolutely everything" to get what they need in the transfer market, but there are moments when they have to accept that certain deals are not possible.
"It's always how I've worked. What we need and want, we try absolutely everything to get it. But there are moments you have to accept that this or that is not possible for us, and you step aside and do different stuff," added the German tactician.
The news of Liverpool's decision not to pursue Bellingham has triggered mixed reactions among fans and pundits alike.
While some may be disappointed, Klopp's pragmatic approach and focus on financial sustainability could serve Liverpool well in the long run as they look to rebuild their midfield and strengthen their squad for future challenges.
