The midfielder admitted that the 2024 season was not their best as they finished fifth on the log, after having enjoyed a stellar campaign and ended third in 2023.
This was their best ever since promotion to the South African elite women’s league, and Moodaly has told SABC Sport they intend bouncing back when the 2025 season kicks off.
"Last season wasn't a true reflection of our capabilities as a team, we had a lot of injuries early in the season, which affected us," Moodaly defended.
"Realistically I would hope for us to finish in the top three, but I can definitely see us finishing second – we have always beaten top teams, and we've always been able to compete with them and keep up with the intensity.
"So I just think it's a matter of us being consistent throughout the season."
JVW will have a new coach in charge after parting ways with Mitch Stevens after a two-and-a-half-year stint, but Moodaly believes whoever takes over will continue with the values of the club.
"Coach Mitch will definitely be missed, he provided a lot of knowledge, which has benefitted each player over the past few years that he has been with us," she acknowledged.
"However, I strongly believe that anyone taking up the coaching position will abide by the values and cause of JVW, which are on and off the field.
"And sometimes I think change is a good and fresh way to start off the new year, and it's a different perspective to look at it in terms of us starting on a positive note."
