SABC Sport has reliably learnt that the midfield maestro is training with her former club JVW FC while she weighs up her options.
After an exciting period at Glasgow City in Scotland, where she won the league title, Motlhalo joined the National Women’s Soccer League (NWSL) in the US in January last year, but did not enjoy a good spell, as she was used sparingly.
The South African played more matches for her country than she did for her club during her stay in Louisville, as she featured in only three games, playing less than 20 minutes each time.
Despite the lack of game time at club level, Motlhalo played a pivotal role in the Banyana squad, featuring in five games – twice against Senegal, once vs England and also two fixtures against Jamaica, scoring in the latter in a 2-3 defeat.
Racing Louisville penned a farewell message to the player: “We thank Linda for everything she has given to Racing Louisville on and off the pitch. We wish her all the best in the next steps of her career.”
The 26 year old was previously on the books of Houston Dash in the USA, where she signed her first professional contract back in 2018.
She has also played for Beijing BG Phoenix in China, Swedish club Djurgardens IF and Glasgow City before ending up in the USA.
