Chipolopolo are in preparations for the Africa Cup of Nations where they will face the Democratic Republic of Congo, Morocco and Tunisia.
It is Zambia's first AFCON since 2015 as they failed to qualify for the past three competitions, while they have one tournament win, in 2012.
Daka, who plays his club football for Leicester, explained that Cameroon was a good test for Zambia ahead of their AFCON opener with the DR Congo on Wednesday.
He said on ZamFoot: "Well it was a very competitive game and did not look like a training match.
"It was important for us as a team to see the level we are at and how ready we are going forward.
"It has given us direction of areas we need to work on and what we need to improve and also it was a good result."
On their chances at this year's tournament, Daka added: "We don't expect it to be easy but one thing I can say is that we will do our very best and make sure we achieve our target.
"We are going there not to be participants but to compete. We are going there for a reason, we did not qualify by mistake.
"We go there not to have pressure but to enjoy and give everything we can to make sure we achieve our targets."
