Diogo Costa, the goalkeeper for Porto, has dampened the rumors linking him to a summer transfer to Manchester United.
There is speculation that Erik ten Hag's team is currently leading the race to secure the 23-year-old's signature; however, Costa has reassured his current employers by downplaying the rumours surrounding his future.
"That's the internet. It is a happiness and an honour to play for my favourite club," said Costa.
"What they say is what they say, there is nothing concrete. I have a contract until 2027 and I hope to continue, let's see."
Following David de Gea's struggles this season, which were further highlighted by a disappointing performance in the FA Cup final against Manchester City, Manchester United are in search of a new gloveman.
Considering his impressive season at Porto, Costa could be seen as a potential long-term successor to De Gea by the transfer experts at Old Trafford. Nevertheless, the goalkeeper remains unfazed by the conjecture.
Reports suggest that Manchester United are prepared to meet the £65 million release clause in order to entice Costa to England, as they explore various options in anticipation of the upcoming transfer window.
Costa has had an outstanding campaign with the Portuguese giants, boasting 16 clean sheets in the Liga Portugal and appearing in 41 matches across all competitions.
