The Paris Saint-Germain right-back, who helped secure a third consecutive Ligue 1 title for PSG in May, claimed the prestigious award ahead of a competitive field of nominees.
Among those vying for the honour were Nigeria's Ademola Lookman, Algeria's Amine Gouiri, Burkina Faso's Edmond Tapsoba, and Morocco's Hakimi himself.
Other contenders included the likes of Simon Adingra, Chancel Mbemba, and Soufiane Rahimi.
Hakimi's remarkable 2024 saw him assist Morocco in clinching the bronze medal at the Paris Olympics, where the team reached the semi-finals for the first time in history.
Hakimi's victory at the CAF Awards, held in Marrakech on Monday night, cements his place as one of Africa's top players.
"This nomination rewards all the work I have done since I was little. I hope to win this important trophy in my career," he told Telefoot.
A three-time Ligue 1 title winner with PSG, Hakimi has earned widespread acclaim for his consistent performances at both club and international levels.
The 2024 accolade would be a significant milestone for Hakimi, following in the footsteps of previous winner, Victor Osimhen.
