Sibongiseni Mthethwa wanted by AmaZulu

Mthethwa has been one of the key players in the COSAFA Cup, playing all three matches. He has been linked with a move away from Stellenbosch following a great performance during the 2022/23 DSTV Premiership season.

On Wednesday during the Prince Mangosuthu Legacy Cup launch in Durban Vilakazi confirmed interest by the club but did not dwell too much on discussions

"He is one of the players we are interested in, but I cannot say much, the management are dealing with it," Vilakazi.

SABC Sport understands that Usuthu are desperate for Makhehleni Makhaula’s replacement, who left in January for Orlando Pirates. They have tried to get Andile Jali, however, the deal could not be sealed.

Mthethwa is seen a proper player to fill that void, and Usuthu are monitoring him in this current COSAFA Cup. He is also keen to move to KZN, as long as Stellenbosch gives him a blessing.
