Broadcasted live on national television almost a month ago, the two sets of players from the teams got involved in a fistfight, leading to the referee issuing five red cards - two to Royal AM and the other three to Lindelani Ladies.
Royal AM won the fixture 2-1. Speaking exclusively to SABC Sport, Lindelani Ladies head coach Nkosikhona Mthembu says they are yet to receive correspondence and the wait is giving them sleepless nights.
"Of course it does in a big way. It gives one sleepless nights and now it has become the hindrance to most of the things we do for the betterment of the team. You see when you have a runny stomach, picking up something heavy becomes impossible but we'll keep on waiting,” Mthembu said.
“Like I said to you, everything is new to us and we are bound to make mistakes but we'll try and avoid most of them. As I said, we are learning the hard way," Mthembu said.
Lindelani Ladies are newcomers to the Hollywoodbets Super League after gaining promotion at the end of 2023 from the Sasol League.
Mthembu says the incident has left the club with deep scars, and with a dented image.
"I don't feel comfortable talking about this one but eish what can I say course it did more harder than you can imagine and it created cracks that will mend over years to come,” he added.
“I believe we need to keep instilling love and peace to these youngsters as we're been doing on a daily basis. Raising a child isn't an easy thing, it needs a community to raise a child and continue promoting kindness and avoid violence in any given circumstance. And instill wisdom as situations like that may repeat themselves."
