The north London club are reportedly in advanced talks to sign Paris Saint-Germain's Randal Kolo Muani, aiming to bolster their attack amidst a challenging season.
According to sources, Tottenham's chairman Daniel Levy and technical director Johan Lange have traveled to France to finalize negotiations for the 26-year-old French striker.
Kolo Muani, who has struggled to meet expectations since his move to PSG, could be on his way to revitalize his career in the Premier League.
The deal, if completed, would see Kolo Muani earning about 165,000 pounds per week at Tottenham. The transfer fee is speculated to be around 55 million pounds, potentially structured as an initial loan with an option to buy, with payments deferred until 2026.
Ange Postecoglou has indicated the need for new players, particularly given Tottenham's current 12th position in the league, closer to relegation than the top four.
"We need fresh legs in January," Postecoglou has said, emphasizing the urgency of the transfer window for the injury-hit squad.
Kolo Muani, who can operate as a central striker or on the wings, has not had the impact expected at PSG, scoring only twice in 14 appearances across all competitions this season.
However, with eight goals in 27 caps for France, there's optimism he might find his form at Spurs, where he could share the load with Dominic Solanke.
On another front, West Ham United have shown interest in Brighton's Evan Ferguson. The 20-year-old Irish striker has been linked with a move away from Brighton, where he has seen limited game time this season. Despite his recent struggles, Ferguson remains a hot prospect, with Tottenham also among the clubs monitoring his situation.
Lastly, in the race for defensive reinforcements, Manchester City have taken the lead over Tottenham in negotiations for a promising centre-back, showcasing the competitive nature of the transfer market this January.
These moves could signal a strategic shift for Tottenham, known in the past for their late-window dealings, now acting swiftly to address their squad's needs.
