TS Galaxy coach Adnan Beganovic talks transfers

TS Galaxy coach Adnan Beganovic has confirmed defender Sifiso Hlanti is currently training with the club although no deal has been agreed yet.

Following his departure from Kaizer Chiefs eight months ago, the left back has been looking for a new home on a free transfer.

Speaking to SABC Sport, Beganovic says Hlanti will have to tick a few boxes if he is to be considered by The Rockets.

"When he came, I knew him because of many games I analysed when we played against Chiefs. I know him, he's left back, not so fast, what we expected but also he needs to fix some tactical parts and also fitness is very important to fix now because he came he's not ready to play because he had a huge gap between two clubs and I think seven months is not easy to replace,” Beganovic said.

“I think he needs just to get fit and if we decide to keep him he can help because he has quality."

With the January transfer window officially open, Beganovic adds that Galaxy could look to sign a central defender on top of retaining the same squad.

"For us, it's very important to keep [players] and we decided to keep all our players. Then we talked about the FIFA window and then maybe we decide maybe now we have a trial for central defenders. Zulu from Durban and then Hlanti is there, the Kaizer Chiefs left back," the coach added.

"Maybe we try to find one central defender if we can but in the end, we want to keep all our players and I’m so happy about that then I think it’s enough for this season."

Beganovic also discusses the upcoming schedule with a congested fixture list this month and in February.

The coach says everyone will have to play their role to help them continue their unbeaten run of five matches in the Betway Premiership since he took over from compatriot Sead Ramovic.

"We expect a tough two months because in January we play I think two games because Sundowns has more games because of the Champions League. Then we have Magesi and Arrows (Golden). Probably play Nedbank Cup, 25, 26 [January].

“Then in February, we have five or six games, mostly we play at home, five games. Then I think in the morning when we analysed I said we need all our players, all our players because it’s tight, we play Saturday, Wednesday and then Sunday.

"It’s a tight schedule but we have enough players and whoever plays I expect to play on 100% and I think whoever plays can replace that position and play well.”
