UEFA Nations League wrap: Germany and Netherlands secure big wins

Both Germany and Netherlands proved why they ramin European football heavyweight with dominating wins over Bonsia and Hungary respectively.

Germany 7-0 Bosnia and Herzegovina

Germany demolished Bosnia and Herzegovina on Saturday with a statement win. Florian Wirtz and Tim Kleindienst scored two goals apiece to secure top spot in their Nations League group A3 with a game to spare.

Jamal Musiala gave Germany the lead in the second minute after heading Joshua Kimmich's cross past Nikola Vasilj.

It was 2-0 shortly after when Kleindienst's right-footed effort found the bottom right corner. Arsenal's Kai Havertz made it 3-0 before half-time after being picked out in the box by Wirtz. He added a fourth directly from a free kick before scoring his second seven minutes later.

Then Leroy Sane got on the scoresheet before Kleindienst scored his second of the evening to wrap up an emphatic 7-0 win.

The Germans, who travel to Budapest to face Hungary on Tuesday for their last group match, are on an unassailable 13 points with Netherlands in second place.

Netherlands 4-0 Hungary

First-half penalties by Wout Weghorst and Cody Gakpo sent the Oranje on their way, before Denzel Dumfries and Teun Koopmeiners made the game safe in the second period.

The referee stopped play for some ten minutes while Hungary's assistant coach Adam Szalai received treatment, shielded from view by huddled players and staff members, as well as a large white sheet.

Szalai, 36, was stretchered off to applause from spectators and players alike, the Hungarian FA later released a statement saying he was "conscious" and in a "stable condition" in hospital in Amsterdam.
