UJ Ladies are sitting third on the log with 16 points, behind the University of Pretoria and four times title winners, Mamelodi Sundowns.
The Johannesburg side claimed maximum points in their 8th match against Durban Ladies, with a convincing 2 - 0 win at UJ Stadium.
Dunga is adamant about pursuing a top 8 finish this season.
"Mine is just it's a simple one, I've always just said to myself that I always have to be better than I was the last time so my ambition this year is just to be better. Better as a coach, better as a human being and also just to be better at the game,” Modiko said.
“I think if I'm better then it also just goes to my players you know, they get to be improved as well. So, my personal ambition this season is just to be better than last year, we finished badly, we finished in the 9th position. So, anything better than 9th position is exactly that."
UJ Ladies endured a challenging 2022/2023 Hollywoodbets Super League season, finishing ninth with 43 points - just a point behind Durban Ladies.
But they have managed to turn things around this season, obtaining 16 points in just the first quarter of the 2024 Hollywoodbets Super League.
Dunga says she attributes this year’s success to the foundation their technical team laid last season.
"I think the start that we're having is just a continuation of our last year's kind of play and it's so unfortunate that last year we were not able to get the results. So, everything that we're doing right now in terms of how we're playing and our style of play as well it's a continuation of last year. So, it's amazing that there's a reward to it where we are sitting third on the log and we're managing to get those good results."
