Victor Osimhen delighted after scoring brace in Istanbul derby against Fenerbahce

Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen expressed his joy after scoring a brace to help Galatasaray secure a 2-1 victory over fierce rivals Fenerbahce in the Turkish Cup quarterfinals on Wednesday.

The highly anticipated Istanbul derby, played at the Ã…žukru Saracoglu Sports Complex, saw Osimhen deliver a match-winning performance that propelled the Lions into the semifinals.

The result was particularly important for Galatasaray, who were eager to bounce back after a disappointing loss to BeÃ…ŸiktaÃ…Ÿ the previous week.

"We know that Galatasaray vs. Fenerbahce matches are always intense and tough. You have to be fully focused from the first minute to the ninetieth," Osimhen told the club's website, as reported by Pulse Sports.

"We were optimistic when we came here. Last week, unfortunately, we made our fans unhappy, so we had to play well to make up for it."

The 26-year-old striker also spoke about his deep connection with the club and the overwhelming support he receives from the fans and his teammates.

"As I said in my previous interviews, I fell in love with this club the moment I arrived. I love the people here, I love the fans, and I want to repay their love by working hard," he said.

"My teammates are very important to me. They are always supportive, and without them, I wouldn't have scored those goals. I am grateful to them for their contributions."

Osimhen's impact has been instrumental for Galatasaray this season. His 31 goals across all competitions have not only helped the club advance in the Turkish Cup but have also played a crucial role in maintaining their position at the top of the league standings as they push for the title.
