The two KZN sides meet after the FIFA break with Vilakazi desperate to move The Natal Rich Boys away from the danger zone.
Arrows picked up their first win in 11 matches immediately when Komphela arrived, and Vilakazi says this has put a spring in their step.
''It is not going to be an easy one, it is going to be a very difficult game - they are motivated - the new coach has arrived, but we will go there and fight the battle, I think we need it more than them,'' said Vilakazi.
Vilakazi added he’d use the current international recess to improve frailties he has identified in his team, who find themselves second from bottom of the DStv Premiership table.
''What I have mentioned now is that football is about two aspects - defense structure and offensive play. We have realised that we would excel in one department and not do well in the other, so we need to balance the two,'' added Vilakazi.
With 10 matches to go, one of the biggest setbacks for Richards Bay has been upfront, Vilakazi points out.
''As I'm saying, a lot of chances are created but are not converted, so we need to make sure that we finetune our offensive play,'' concluded Vilakazi.
Vilakazi is not naïve about the tough task ahead with Arrows, log leaders Mamelodi Sundowns and Moroka Swallows the next three crucial fixtures.
