The Proteas have been dealt a blow after a back injury ruled fast bowler Anrich Nortje out of the ICC Champions Trophy due to be played from 19 February – 9 March in Pakistan.
Anrich Nortje has been declared fit after being included in the Proteas' squad for the ICC Champions Trophy that will take place in Pakistan from 19 February – 9 March.
Proteas quick Anrich Nortje has been ruled out of the remainder of the T20I series against Pakistan and the three-match One-Day International series due to a left toe injury.
Fast bowler Anrich Nortje was happy to contribute to the team after the Proteas opened their T20 World Cup campaign with six-wicket win over Sri Lanka in New York.
Proteas coach Rob Walter has no doubt that Anrich Nortje will be back to his best despite his poor form on his return from injury heading into the T20 World Cup.
