Although his agent, Basia Michaels of QT Sports, refused to name the DStv Premiership outfit, she did confirm that the 31-year-old will finally return home having spent more than a decade playing abroad at top sides like FC Twente (Holland), Brentford (England) and most recently FC Cincinnati (USA).
Kaizer Chiefs were the first South African club to be offered Mokotjo, who has been a free agent since leaving America early last year, but the Glamour Boys are believed to have rejected that initial proposal.
Indications are that he has put pen to paper with a local team, but when pushed for a name, his agent said that information was not for her to disclose.
“What I can tell you is that we have signed with a DStv Premiership side that has been professional in their approach to doing this deal and were genuinely interested in Kamo, who is of course a fantastic and experienced player,” Michaels explained.
“It is a good move, and I believed this signing will take the club to another level. But I am afraid that’s all I can say.”
Mokotjo did confirm in August last year during an exclusive interview on Sports Night Amplified with Andile Ncube that he was open to returning to the PSL, where he has ever made a “blurry” appearance for SuperSport United in 2009.
He moved to the Netherlands soon after, and now looks set to make a fresh debut in the topflight several years later.
