Banyana Banyana make it two wins from two against Lesotho

Banyana Banyana made it two wins from two in the their international friendly matches against Lesotho after a 2-0 victory at the UJ Soweto Campus on Tuesday.

After beating the same opponents 1-0 on Saturday, the youthful South Africans put in a much-improved performance in the second match in the space of three days.

Sibongile Ntoane found the back of the net to put Banyana Banyana in the lead inside the first five minutes while Unathi Simayile made ot 2-0 on the stroke of halftime.

The idea behind the two friendly matches was for Banyana head coach Desiree Ellis to test the depth of the younger players at her disposal.

Ellis would have been impressed some players as she looks ahead to the Women's Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) set to take place in July.

The Banyana mentor is also looking forward to the domestic Hollywoodbets Super League, adding: "There's been a lot of player movement, and I think that's going to make the league exciting because sometimes you see a player move you see something different, so I am really looking forward to that.

"You know new players, new clubs, new players brought up from developments. So, I am looking forward to the season. When you look at the fixtures, there is some spice.

"I am looking forward to it being the WAFCON year. You will see more players stepping up and they'll be better for their experience."
