Chippa lines up Lehlohonolo Seema for coaching job

Chippa United are understood to be lining up Lehlohonolo Seema to return to their dugout in yet another coaching change, SABC Sport can reveal.

Sources have indicated that an announcement could be made before their next DStv Premiership fixture against Kaizer Chiefs at the Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium this Freedom Day on 27 April, if Seema agrees.

Just last week on Easter Monday the Chilli Boys sacked interim tactician Kurt Lentjies after five matches and announced Siyabulela Gwambi would replace him in their battle to avoid relegations in the remaining matches.

But Gwambi has already lost two games – a league clash against direct relegation rivals Marumo Gallants and a Nedbank Cup quarterfinal encounter when they hosted Sekhukhune United on Sunday afternoon.

Seema is currently the coach of Chippa’s development team, who were top of the log in the ABC Motsepe League, had made the play-offs but lost to Amavarara.

The 42-year-old former Lesotho international has coached the Chilli Boys before, in two stints where he helped them avoid relegation but was still sacked.

Chippa began the season with Daine Klate in charge, but he was fired after only seven matches and criticised by chairman Siviwe Mpengesi for the side’s style of play under his watch – and immediately succeeded by Morgan Mamilla.

Lentjies took over from Mamilla after five months.
