Ghana star Abdul Fatawu out for six months

Ghanaian winger Abdul Fatawu has faced a major setback after suffering an ACL injury while representing his country in a 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Angola last Thursday.

The 20-year-old sustained the injury during the crucial clash, forcing him to leave the national squad prematurely.

Following his return to Leicester City, Fatawu underwent successful surgery and has started his recovery process.

Sharing an update with fans on Instagram, Fatawu said: "All glory be to Almighty Allah. My surgery was successful, and I just want to tell you that I am okay. I want to thank everyone for your best wishes."

Fatawu's injury is a significant blow to both Leicester City and the Ghanaian national team. Since joining Leicester from Sporting CP, the talented winger has become an integral part of the Foxes' squad, earning praise for his pace, creativity, and attacking flair.

His absence will undoubtedly impact the team's attacking depth for the remainder of the season.

For the Black Stars, Fatawu has emerged as one of the young players to watch, with fans and analysts predicting a bright future for the dynamic forward.

The player now faces at least six months on the sidelines, a period he will use to focus on rehabilitation. Both Leicester City and Ghana will be hoping for his swift return as they look forward to welcoming back a fully fit Fatawu next year.
