Hugo Broos names Bafana Bafana squad for WCQ against Lesotho, Benin

Bafana Bafana coach Hugo Broos has named a relatively stable squad for this month's 2026 FIFA World Cup Qualifiers against Lesotho and Benin, with just one newcomer.

Stellenboscg FC defender Thabo Moloisane has earned his maiden nod under Broos, with the bulk of the squad relatively unchanged from their last time out in AFCON qualifying in November.

Moloisane, who featured in the COSAFA Cup under Helman Mkhalele last year, has seemingly done enough to impress the Belgian tactician and could now feature in the double-header qualifiers.

A notable returnee is midfielder Jayden Adams, who was infamously dropped last year after a fall out with Broos for not showing up to camp, following his move from Stellies to Mamelodi Sundowns in January.

Meanwhile, Qatar-based forward Percy Tau and Burnley FC striker Lyle Foster make their returns to the side in place of Mihlali Mayambela and Evidence Makgopa.

Bafana, who currently occupy second spot in Group C – level on seven points with Rwanda – after four rounds of fixtures, will face Lesotho at Peter Mokaba Stadium next Friday (18:00) before travelling to Abidjan to face Benin on Tuesday, 25 March (18:00).
