The first half of the encounter produced four goals as Lakay struck a brace while Higor Vidal and Lehlogonolo Mojela found the back of the net for the home side as the teams went in at the halftime break 2-2.
The game seemed to take a more cautious approach after the interval with chances few and far between compared to the opening stages.
The visitors though found the winner in 14 minutes from full-time when forward Bradley Grobler beat Vasilije Kolak in the Galaxy goal.
Matsatsantsa would have to see out the final stages of the contest with 10 men after substitute Ronald Pfumbidzai was shown a red card for his second bookable offence in the 84th minute.
The three points move SuperSport up to second in the league standings behind Mamelodi Sundowns after their seventh win in 10 outings while Galaxy are in eighth place.
