The two sides meet in the DStv Premiership on Wednesday at Dobsonville Stadium, which happens to be Mammila’s old stomping ground having worked as a technical advisor for the Dube Birds towards the end of last season.
Mammila has captured the football audience with his attacking style and colourful comments in the media – and Komphela is fascinated.
"I love the level of confidence from Mr Mammila. He shows that you need to be brave which is something that we are trying to instill in our team, bravery. If you are not brave, you're not gonna play. It is good for the premiership that you are playing teams that are so brave," Komphela said.
Swallows climbed to third on the table last week after beating AmaZulu 2-1 with Mammila in the stands observing.
Komphela knows the Chilli Boys are on a high having also managed to get three points in their previous encounter at home against SuperSport United.
"He's not gonna be easy, he's very brave and he's coming to Moroka Swallows and he was working with us previously. So, he's doing his job. Which tells you that if he keeps such focus on us, he wants to hurt us but again I'll go back to what the Spaniards always say 'There's a huge difference between looking at the bull and being with a bull in the kraal'," Komphela added.
Komphela also feels Chippa’s overall makeup as a team gives them enough quality to take on any team in the topflight this season, hence he expects a tough battle.
"They've got a good team, they are aggressive and they pose threats from a lot of areas, even on set plays. If they come central, you will feel them. They come wide; you will feel them. Set plays, you feel them."
