Matsatsantsa registered their first CAF Confederation Cup group stage win in four matches at the Peter Mokaba Stadium, their goals coming from Selaelo Rasebotja and Etiosa Ighodaro to hand them a 2-1 victory.
Hunt felt vindicated by his decision.
"What we did, we grew up today again, the kids. More debuts for 18-year-olds, youngsters which is good for them and good for the club and certainly it will benefit the game in the long run that's for sure. They'll come out of it much stronger, much better and as long as we play the game the right way and try to play the right way, which we did and we have done in the four games. We haven’t won, we lost three but we played the game in the right way and that's the most important thing," Hunt said.
With some senior members of his squad nursing injuries, Hunt insists the only way to put out a team was to give as many as eight youngsters a chance.
"I got to find solutions we've got no players in certain areas. I mean we had two/three debutants today again who came on. I thought it was Man of The Match youngster, he hasn't played the whole game the whole season, Yandisa [Mfolozi] I thought he was unbelievable. Young Thabang Makubo came on, Lyema [Dopolo], we've played eight or nine of them already. I don't think there's any club that do that but that's our philosophy or it's the way we do things that our club," Hunt added.
The inexperienced players got a taste of continental football with a few time-wasting antics from their Libyan counterparts, but Hunt’s instructions were clear that SuperSport would stick to their game plan.
"We play the game the way the game is supposed to be played. I will not tell the goalkeeper to lie down, I will not tell players to lie down and things like that and we will not do that. I don't care if we are 1-0 up and we are playing in a cup final, we will not play like that. You'll see a team that's coming to play here soon, they're actually worse but it is what it is and we'll try and play properly."
