UEFA to investigate reported abuse against Pape Habib Gueye

UEFA are set to investigate allegations of racial abuse directed towards Aberdeen striker Pape Habib Gueye.

The 24-year-old Senegal forward was an unused substitute in the 2-2 draw with PAOK Salonika in the Europa Conference League in Greece.

Aberdeen informed the match delegate of the incident during the tie and made a full report at full-time.

The Scottish Premier League club subsequently took their complaint to European football's governing body.

An Aberdeen statement read: "Pape has the unwavering support of his team-mates and all at Aberdeen will liaise fully with UEFA during their investigations into this very serious matter.

"As a club we have zero tolerance for any form of discrimination or racist abuse. There is no place for such behaviour in football, or society as a whole."
