Coach Hugo Broos on Thursday named his final 23-man squad at the SABC Studios in Auckland Park, as they gear up towards the battle.
Though both sides have qualified, pride will be at stake as well as bragging rights as the group winner, with the Atlas Lions currently on six points and Bafana on four.
Liberia, who failed to win any of their three matches, are out of contention, along with Zimbabwe, who have been banned from international football by FIFA due to political interference in their national association (ZIFA).
The 2023 AFCON finals were initially scheduled to be staged in Ivory Coast in June/July this year but were later postponed to January 2024 due to adverse midyear weather patterns in the host nation.
Next weekend's clash will be broadcast live on SABC 1 at 16h00, but SABC Sport is also giving two lucky fans a chance to watch the encounter at the iconic Calabash, which hosted the FIFA World Cup final between Spain and the Netherlands in 2010.
