Injured Lyle Foster close to Burnley comeback

Lyle Foster is close to making a return to full fitness says Burnley head coach Scott Parker.

The 24-year-old Bafana Bafana striker has been sidelined since October.

Foster has been out of action since suffering a muscle injury while playing for South Africa in a 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Congo-Brazzaville.

Foster has been back in training with the Clarets first team and is expected to make his Championship return in the upcoming weeks.

Parker said in the Burnley Express: "Lyle is getting a bit ⦠closer, he's been back on the grass now for the last 10 days."

Foster posted on social media: "Injury last two months.

"Family, friends and everyone at the club got me through it. Happy I'm back."

Burnley are currently third on the Championship standings, just one point behind second-placed Leeds United.

Foster is expected to make his return to the side for the clash with Championship leaders Sheffield United on December 26.
