This after Chippa overcame a 10-man SuperSport United with a last-gasp 1-0 DStv Premiership win at Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium in Gqeberha on Tuesday night.
A late goal from Namibia international striker Elom Kambindu with just five minutes left on the clock secured back-to-back wins for the Eastern Cape-based outfit – a rare feat they last achieved just under a year ago when they won four on the trot, also under Mammila.
The coach says they now want to build something strong for the remainder of the season.
"I'm happy with the performance, although I'm not 100 per cent happy [because] we can do better, but it's a work in progress," said the administrator-come-coach.
"Three points, one goal, move I think two or three steps from position seven to four – happy, and I think we can build the strongest team ever from here and for the remaining matches."
Newly-appointed technical director Vusumuzi “Kanu” Vilakazi was still on the Golden Arrows bench when the KwaZulu-Natal side beat SuperSport 3-0 last month.
Asked if his new colleague had a significant role in their turnaround, Mammila acknowledged the importance of teamwork.
"Remember, football is about team work. He's an important member of the team, just like anybody in the technical team and players," he admitted.
"We work as a team here and we win as a team. It's not an individual, it's just [that
I'm the one who's been sent to do the talking, but we work as a team and we'll keep it that way. I think it's good for us as a team."
